Panel Discussion and Strategy Workshop

There are many obstacles for Berlins low-wage workers to have a voice in the workplace and a decent quality of life. Challenges with precarious visa status, short-term contracts, sub-contractors, occupational health and safety, and limited awareness of workplace rights prevent workers from having quality jobs, and access to unions, and workcouncils. Join our panel discussion that will address how workers with migration backgrounds in the low wage sector have organized themselves in Copenhagen and Minneapolis through the model of union supported workers center.  We will then have a strategic planning workshop on how these models of organization could be built in Berlin.
