Aims:
EU Townhalls aims to strengthen the democratic and civic participation of migrant EU citizens in Berlin, foster European identity, and promote civic engagement for shared European values. By encouraging political inclusion and dialogue, it contributes to social cohesion and a more participatory urban democracy.
Target Groups:
EU citizens living in Berlin, especially mobile EU nationals and migrants in districts with high diversity (Mitte, Neukölln, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg).
Activities:
- Participatory workshops on democratic and civil society participation by EU citizens
- Interactive Townhall meeting with policymakers and community representatives
- Outreach and networking with migrant organisations and civic actors
- Development and publication of educational and participatory materials
Events:
- Kick-off event introducing the EU Townhalls Berlin initiative (September 2025)
- Series of workshops on EU citizenship and participation (September–November 2025)
- Final public Townhall discussion with policymakers and citizens (December 2025)
